An Estonian nature passport

Go outside. Keep a little of it.

Discover Estonia’s trails, collect your visits, and turn small adventures into a nature journal worth keeping.

A little passport. A lot of Estonia.

Five proposed moments, from choosing a trail to sharing a memory. Open any image to see the full mock screen.

Design mockups, not screenshots of a working native app. Illustrations are AI-generated concepts, not official park emblems or photographs. Counts, visits and journal entries are examples.

A small reward for being there.

A visit becomes a keepsake. Scratch the cover here, or reveal it with one tap. In the planned app, you could add a new walk or a trip from years ago.

Drag across the badge, or use Reveal badge.

Start with six national parks.

Lahemaa’s coast, Soomaa’s water, Karula’s hills. One collection brings Estonia’s very different landscapes together. Then follow the trails between them.

Choose your next walk

Browse places and keep a wish list. The first pilot would use a small, agreed selection of trails, with dated information and official links.

Leave room for your own story

Record repeat visits, a photo, a note, or an approximate date. Manual visits count; the concept does not require background location tracking.

Notice more, disturb less

A later nature collection could celebrate common birds and plants. No rewards for approaching wildlife or sharing sensitive sighting locations.

Take your memories home

Plan for offline journal access and optional private iCloud sync. Posters and photo collages would be shared only when you choose.

Follow marked paths and current access restrictions. A collectible badge would record your own memory, not certify a route or grant access. RMK visitor information

A focused first chapter.

Proposed first release: iPhone and iPad, in Estonian and English. Native app compatibility and release timing remain to be confirmed.

  • A wish list, manual visit records, repeat visits, photos and notes.
  • Badge reveal, a personal journal and one exportable poster style.
  • Source dates, accessibility details where known, and links to current notices.
